The McLennan Field Station was officially opened 21 October 1961 for the purpose of research work in the National Park and to make proper facilities available for the training of Agriculture and Science students in Biology. The laboratory was named the in honour of Associate Professor Dr Ethyl McLennan, who was a member of the Botany Department at the University of Melbourne for forty years. |
