McLennan, Ethel Irene (1891 - 1983)

Born: 15 March 1891  Williamstown, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 1983.

McLennan was Associate Professor of Botany, University of Melbourne 1931-55, after having joined the staff in 1915. She specialized in mycology and plant pathology, and was awarded the Syme Prize in 1927.

Born 15 March 1891. Died 1983. Educated University of Melbourne (BSc 1914, DSc 1921). Demonstrator - lecturer, Botany Department, University of Melbourne 1915-31, associate professor of botany 1931-55, acting Head of the Department 1937-38. Chairwoman, Australian Pan-Pacific Women's Committee 1929, President, Australian Federation of University Women 1934. Scandinavian Fellowship, International Federation of University Women 1926, Syme Prize 1927.
