Coal Handling and Storage (continued) This design represented major changes and it was necessary to be confident that it would be successful before it could be applied to a full scale installation. As a result a large pilot bunker incorporating the new style outlet arrangement with conveyor belt type outlet feeder was built and extensive trials undertaken. The resulting new design of bunker with conveyor belt outlet type feeders was incorporated in the Yallourn W power station and proved to be highly successful. This design is still being used in recently installed power stations. The diagrammatic arrangement of the bunker and feeder conveyors is shown in Fig. 64.
