Thompson, Percival Faraday (c. 1885 - 1951)

Born: c. 1885.  Died: 25 May 1951.

Thompson was demonstrator, lecturer and senior lecturer in metallurgy at the University of Melbourne from 1918-41. During World War II he investigated corrosion in the cooling systems of aircraft as a part-time investigator in corrosion with the RAAF and CSIR.


Career Highlights

Born ca 1885. Died 25 May 1951. Educated Working Men's College, Melbourne. Public Analyst's diploma course 1911. Lecturer in chemistry, Melbourne Working Men's College 1906-18, demonstrator in metallurgy, University of Melbourne 1918-20, lecturer from 1920, later senior lecturer (and sometime acting professor) till 1941. President, Society of Chemical Industry of Victoria 1924 and 1925.
