Nugent, Keith Alexander (1959 - )

Born: 28 June 1959  Bath, England

Nugent was appointed Professor of Physics at the University of Melbourne in 1993. At 34, he was one of the university's youngest ever professorial appointments. In 1996 Nugent was appointed Head of School. He is a world leader in research into x-ray optics, near-field microscopy and biophysical imaging.

R&D 100 Award ("Research and Development") 1988, Pawsey Medal, Australian Academy of Science 1989, Edgeworth David Medal, Royal Society of New South Wales 1993.
