Nugent was appointed Professor of Physics at the University of Melbourne in 1993. At 34, he was one of the university's youngest ever professorial appointments. In 1996 Nugent was appointed Head of School. He is a world leader in research into x-ray optics, near-field microscopy and biophysical imaging. |
