This series consists of subject files compiled by Robert U'Ren regarding the Brotherhood of St. Laurence Leisure Study 1958. The items document the initial proposal for an investigation of leisure time activities in the "new" housing estate of Braybrook, the purpose of the research, notes from Steering Committee, progress reports, notes on the research, observations, preliminary analysis, drafts, scoring and reading of the responses.

This series consists of two interviewer's notebooks that record details of appointments in addition to other information and additional comments and observations about the household.

This series consists of Brotherhood of St. Laurence Survey of Leisure Activities, 1958 - Adult Questionnaires. Every questionnaire recorded the respondent's address, details of family members, income, type of house, employment, transport, clubs and organisations, sporting and social facilities, details of leisure pursuits, concerns about children, educational priorities, economic and housing expectations, social life and activities.

This series consists of the master sheets containing the questions included in the Brotherhood of St. Laurence Leisure Study 1958 questionnaire, and the raw data sheets that record the respondents' coded responses. The results were subsequently published in the report "Leisure: A Social Enquiry into Leisure Activities and Needs in an Australian Housing Estate" by David Scott and Robert U'Ren.

This series consists of the printer's proof copy of "Leisure: A Social Enquiry into Leisure Activities and Needs in an Australian Housing Estate" by David Scott and Robert U'Ren. The report was a project of the Brotherhood of St. Laurence, Fitzroy, Melbourne and published in 1962.

This series consists of copies of data from the Commonwealth Employment Service files recording the clients for whom a diagnosis of epilepsy was entered during 1959. The index cards record the client's name, address, personal details, occupation, nature of employment, employment history, qualifications, factors affecting placement, general action, referrals, C.E.S. interviewer and date. The information was ultimately used in a study on epilepsy and community attitudes conducted by the Social Studies Department at the University of Melbourne.

Series 7 contains completed questionnaires titled: "Study on Church and People - Questionnaire on 'What you think of the Church'", and handwritten notes regarding the study. As outlined in these notes: "In 1960 a questionnaire based study was carried out among adherents of the Presbyterian and Methodist churches in Richmond. The study was under the direction of the Rev. Alan F. Reid of the Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Robert R. U'Ren of the Methodist Church ... The population covered was all known adherents of the two denominations resident in Richmond."

Also included are census forms, being Methodist responses from the St. Stephen's Chuch of England, Richmond, Parish Census of 1957.
