Dr Gwynneth Buchanan was a lecturer in Zoology at the University of Melbourne for twenty five years. She was a student under Baldwin Spencer, graduating in 1908. Working with a government research scholarship, Dr Buchanan obtained the degree of MSc and was awarded the DSc in 1916. For some years she was tutor in zoology at Trinity, Ormond and Queen's Colleges. 'Dr Buch' was actively involved in all aspects of University life, including being a foundation member of the McCoy Society for Field Investigation and Research. |
