Pescott was the seventh Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne 1957-70. Previously he had worked in the Science Section of the Victorian Department of Agriculture and was Director of the National Museum of Victoria 1944-57. |

Member of Grimwade Expedition to Western Australia 1947. Director, Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne 1957-70. President, Entomological Society of Victoria 1935.
