Worner, Howard Knox (1913 - 2006)

Born: 3 August 1913  Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 17 November 2006.

Worner was Professor of Metallurgy, University of Melbourne 1946-55 and then went to work for the mining companies, CRA Ltd and BHP Ltd. He published widely in the field of metallurgy and developed the "WORCRA" continuous smelting and refining process. In 1973 he became a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and in 1975 a Foundation Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering 1975.
