Solomon had been Chief of the Division of Chemicals and Polymers, CSIRO and was leader of the team that invented the 'Plastic Banknote' prior to becoming the Masson Professor of Chemistry, University of Melbourne in 1990. He retired in 1994, and was appointed Professorial Fellow in 1995. He was also awarded the Clunies Ross National Science and Technology Award in 1995. |
