A donation was made in 1997 by the Selby Scientific Foundation for an award in Biochemistry for academic staff members.
Conditions: The purpose of the award is to assist an outstanding academic to establish his or her research career. Eligibility for the award is restricted to academic staff members within five years of their first appointments (contract or continuing) at The University of Melbourne in chemistry or related disciplines. A report is provided annually to the Selby Trustees by the successful candidate. Process: The Award is made by a University Committee, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) with membership including the Head of the School of Chemistry and at least one other Professor nominated by the Dean of Science. Value: $6,500
