The Royal Society of Victoria 1934-1984 (continued)

On 11th August 1960, Professor Kathleen Fitzpatrick gave, in the Society's Hall, a lecture 'The Burke and Wills Expedition and the Royal Society of Victoria' which has been printed in Historical Studies: Australian and New Zealand, 1963, volume 10. On 10th November 1960 the Society's annual Soirée had the Burke and Wills expedition as its theme for lectures and exhibits.

The Society has always been fortunate in the enthusiasm and devotion of its Honorary Officers and Councillors. It has received generous bequests from Dr F.L. Stillwell, Honorary Secretary 1929-1946 and President 1953-1954, and from Professor E.W. Skeats, a Councillor 1906-1909 and 1912-1952 and President 1910-1966. It looks forward to continuing its service to science in Victoria in the second century of its existence.
